About the studio
One person. Small apps. Shipped properly.
fromgeoff is a one-person app studio in Kansas City. By day I manage a software engineering team; by night I build the tools I wish existed.
I've spent the last decade writing code, shipping products, and managing engineers. Somewhere along the way I became a project hoarder — starting something new every week, finishing one a quarter. I'm honest about that ratio, and this studio is the fix.
Every app on the shelf started as a problem I actually had. HiveLog exists because a paper notebook is a terrible tool when you're wearing beekeeping gloves. The rule: if I wouldn't pay for it, it doesn't ship.
When I'm not building, I'm in Kansas City, probably debugging something on my Mac Mini that was supposed to be fully automated by now.
How the apps get made
Offline-first
If an app can work without a signal, it should. Your bee yard, basement, and airplane seat don't have Wi-Fi.
No accounts
You shouldn't need a login to keep notes on your own phone. If an app doesn't need your email, it doesn't ask for it.
Honest pricing
A genuinely useful free tier, and a Pro tier that costs what a coffee does. Lifetime options, always. No dark patterns.
Finished, then shipped
Nothing goes on the shelf until it's good enough that I'd pay for it myself. Then it gets supported — not abandoned.
